Who is this for?
The FAQs will answer many of the questions that you may have about the interview so if you are interested in reading it, you can but I would suggest not skipping the first part where Jacqueline introduces herself and shares her experience and passion.
Is there a plan for future interviews?
I've always wanted to do more interviews and this was just something that I felt was worthy of doing. However, if you would like to suggest someone else interview, please let me know. I will gladly create an interview with her as well. I'd love to interview more people from the software development industry like this but it takes a lot of time, planning, and preparation so…you can help me make this happen by suggesting someone else you would like to hear about.
What do you hope to accomplish with this?
I want to show people how we work and how our team works day in and day out, from the first bug discovery to the marketing campaign for each release. I want people to see how Boom Technology started, who we are now, and all of the things that we've learned along the way. All up, this may not seem like much but it's just my way of making people aware of who software development is and what it takes to get there.
So is this a marketing strategy?
Yes and no. I hope this interview will be useful to developers in general. I'm hoping that you can learn from our mistakes, our successes, and the way we work effectively as a team. This is pretty much just for fun, there's no plan of making money off of it or anything like that. It's just something that I want to do because these are the things I love doing and they're all related to Software Development in some way.
Are you associated with Boom Technology?
I'm associated with Jacqueline d. Reses is a Software Engineer whom I admire and respect on many levels. We're close friends, share the same interests, and we both love what we do. I've been helping her out with some of her projects as well as collaborating with her team out of interest. Besides that, I don't have any other associations with the company.
Conclusion
This interview is meant only for those who are interested in what software development is. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed writing about our experiences, successes, and failures. There's a lot of good information here that may be useful to you in some way. If you do find something that might be useful to you then don't hesitate to share it with your fellow developers or people interested in software development.
