Technology Week is a blog for the latest in tech news and reviews. They post 8 times a week on everything from apps to video games, wearables, and gadgets. The team at Technology Week believes that when you're passionate about something, it's worth learning as much about it as possible. That's why they dedicate their time to finding the best of the best when it comes to tech-related news stories and product reviews. They're always looking for ways to help you get the most out of everything they post, so they encourage readers to share their thoughts on the products they love and interact with Technology Week through social media.
What platform do you use?
WordPress because it's the best. Seriously, I love WordPress. However, I always try to test different platforms to make sure that the site is working for me, but since WordPress is pretty great, it's what my blog runs on (and it runs on most other sites as well).
What keywords do you use in your posts?
Primary focus: technology; secondary focus: reviews. Also related articles and quotes from a variety of sources. Periodically, there are "Tech Tuesdays" where I post about gadgets and products that are under $100 or less and are great for people of all backgrounds.
How do you schedule posts?
I don't. I write my posts as I have time and post them when I'm finished. This would probably be one of the first things I'd change if I had to start over though. I should be better about scheduling my posts for maximum visibility throughout the week, but it's not a major priority for me. If anyone has any suggestions on how to go about this, let me know!
How do you get so many social shares?
I don't know how that happened. It's not something that I focus on. I don't spend a lot of time on it because, in the end, it's more important to me if people read my posts. Social shares are nice, but it's about getting people to read and then sharing your stuff (anyone can share content on social media). So, I'd rather have people reading what I write than looking at the numbers.
What are some of the most popular posts?
The "How To" and "Tech Tuesdays" posts consistently get favorable shares and comments. Along with those posts are other popular ones that include lists of Favorite Apps, Innovations Under $10, Microsoft Office Tips, and so on.
How often do you post?
I post a minimum of 8 times per week (sometimes more and sometimes less). I am typically a "get it done" kind of person. I just don't like wasting time, so I typically try to get as much done as possible in that short time frame.
What's your daily schedule like? How do you get it all done?
I have a pretty busy schedule so my time varies day-to-day. It can be anywhere from 1 hour to 9 hours depending on the day/week/month. It can be hectic and chaotic. I have a routine though (more of a "schedule" than a "schedule" - more like a to-do list). If you'd like me to alter my schedule so that it works better for you, I'd be more than happy to do that!
What are some other projects or sites of yours?
I have several that I am working on or have worked on in the past. There's this one site called Where's My Sh*t? which has started as an entertainment blog and has had some growing pains. It seems to be doing okay, but there's still room for growth (in everything). I also have an in-depth guide to optimizing your Instagram profile. I'm working on a project for "Crowdfunding Review" and I'm working on this site called DbZoo. It's still a work in progress, but I plan to finish it someday.
What do you want from this community?
I want you guys to read my posts, share them, and interact with me through social media (especially Facebook). It means a lot that people take the time to read what I've written and follow my posts! Let me know what else you'd like me to write about or improve on. I'm always open to suggestions.
Conclusion
This article is an example of the type of content that you can use for your blog. Just like I do with my blog, you can easily apply the principles and ideas presented in this article to your blog content. The first step to using this type of article in your content marketing strategy is to have a clear understanding of your goals and target market. Once you know who you are writing for, it will be much easier to write content that resonates with them (and gets shared by them). In the end, effective content marketing is all about having a clear understanding of who you are writing for so that you can effectively reach out to them.
