Fruit Street Health is a first-of-its kind health care provider for women. With more than 50 years of combined experience in the medical profession, our five providers offer the highest quality medical care available today. We invite you to visit our website to learn more about us and how we can serve you and your family. Fruit Street Health is an obstetrical and gynecological practice located on Fruit Street in downtown Baltimore. Our facility, which is shared with our four partners, is a beautifully renovated 19th-century residential townhouse, which includes five examination rooms equipped with the latest technology.
The doctors at Fruit Street Health are all board-certified physicians, with expertise in obstetrics, gynecology, or general practice medicine. Each physician is driven by a passion to serve women throughout their lives, and we are here to help you take better care of yourself. We understand that you want someone with medical knowledge and experience to empower you to make the right decisions for your family's health.
How much time do I have to take off of work?
Approximately seven to ten days. We understand that you have other obligations and that taking time off of work is vital to your health, comfort, and safety. You can "cancel" the consultation at any time. If you and your family can make it through the appointment, we understand you will need more time as we progress during your treatment plan. This can be up to two further appointments after your initial consultation. If you decide at a later date that you would like to reschedule or cancel a future appointment, our policy allows for this as long as we are given 24 hours notice before the date of the visit.
What can I expect to experience during the consultation?
During your initial consultation, we will fill you in on some of our processes and ask questions about your symptoms and what you expect from us. We will do a thorough exam of your pelvic area to determine the source of your condition. We may suggest that you take samples to the lab for testing. You will have a one-on-one appointment with any of our providers; however, it is possible that other providers within FRUIT STREET HEALTH may also be available during this time. If so, they will discuss your treatment plan with you and track any lab results that come back on their own patients' results.
What is the office like?
The Fruit Street Health office is located in a modern building with friendly, inviting décor. It is designed to look like an office/gynecology clinic and we have tried to set up our appointments in a way that fits the space we have.
How long will it take for me to get results from my lab work?
We suggest waiting at least 90 days after your last menstrual period before having any lab work performed on your body. We ask that you keep this appointment information open so that if you need to reschedule or cancel, we can do so easily. Once your results are back, we will notify you in one of several ways, including a phone call or email.
Will I need to return for any reason?
Yes. We will schedule multiple appointments because with three doctors covering over 50 years of experience, it is possible that additional care may be required in support of your treatment plan. Our goal is to get you feeling as good as new with the fewest appointments possible. If you are having a certain kind of symptom or complication, we may refer you to a specialist (a doctor who treats problems in particular organs) to take care of that particular issue and then return to us for follow-up.
Conclusion
Fruit Street Health is offering a limited number of discounted consultations as a way to help consumers get the most from their consultations and make the best decision for themselves and their families. We understand that this is a decision that is not taken lightly, so we will provide you with information about our services and allow your time to determine if we are right for you. We know that each patient has different needs, which require referrals to specialists if necessary. Therefore, please be sure to keep us in mind when making this important decision.
